Actually, The Clarian Academy is a Private Early Learning Academy.
We offer Junior PreK, PreK, Kindergarten and K-1 educational programs focused on early STEM education for children ages three and 1/2 through six Although our academy resides within the of Dekalb School District, we are not a member of the Georgia Public School System. Additionally, enrollment is not based on district assignment, zip code, or attendance zoning.
Families from all over the Metropolitan Atlanta Community are welcome to apply!
Our admissions requirements are simply to determine if we are a great fit for your family's early education goals.
As an academy with state-of-the-art technology and a STEM driven curriculum approach, it is important for us to work together to determine if our programs will be the "best" fit for your little budding scholar. Each prospective family participates in an "admissions screening" where children are assessed on age-appropriate developmental milestones.
Additionally, as Parental Involvement is at the core of our framework each family will be asked to schedule a Family Visit.
Our academy does NOT participate in the State-Funded Georgia PreK program.
However, Pre K classrooms are guided by the foundational components and best practices governed by, Georgia Bright From the Start. Additionally, instructional activities are aligned to both state and national standards.
Yes. Our PreK programs are structured year-round in the sense that children may enroll at any time during the calendar year. However, once a budding "scholar" enrolls in the Kindergarten Program, the traditional school year is followed with enrollment in August and January only.
Yes! Children will enjoy a daily recess on our beautiful well-shaded play area. Our science curriculum supports "Horticulture" where children enjoy planting and gardening outdoors. As physical education is a core component children will enjoy many other outdoor activities and games during the school day.
Currently, in addition to our traditional "Kindergarten" classroom we also offer a K-1 option for children with late birthdays. Our board of directors has approved academic expansion for next school year AY22.
With this, the academy plans add early elementary school grades (through-2nd) pending Accreditation approval with Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC).
Yes! The parents may drop their child/ren off as early as 7:00am and pick up as late as 6:30pm.
As we understand the importance of expanded options for our beloved essential workers and medical professionals, we've added an option to extend their day until 7pm with directors approval.
Our tuition includes meals, snacks and STEM related field trips. With this, children receive a continental breakfast, nutritious lunch and and afternoon snacks. There are two annual fees (technology and enrollment fee billed at re-enrollment or at the time of application for new scholars.
The Clarian Academy will follow the guidance published by the Georgia Department of Health, Bright From the Start and the Center for Disease Control. At this time, masks are recommended for children 3 and older.
With this, little scholars and all staff will wear either a Face Mask or Facial Shield. Daily Check-In & Wellness screening will include: Temperature Monitoring, Routine Hand-Washing, and Social Distancing.
